GPS walk for smartphones through the Bergherbos nature reserve. The Bergherbos is a beautiful forest area bordered by fields. Hilltops offer beautiful views of the rolling landscape.
Until less than 100 years ago, many people worked in and around the forest. The activities varied widely. Families gathered their wood or looked for blueberries. Many uses were also strongly linked to industry: sand was extracted on a large scale, oaks were peeled for leather tanning, and Scots pine was grown for mining.
This walk takes about 1.5 hours and takes you to the most beautiful places in the forest.
Start and end of the walk: Hettenheuvel parking lot on the N815 between Kilder and Zeddam.
